The Senior Citizens Center project has cleared an SHPO review, one of the first milestones in the project. Up next, a draft and submittal of an EECBG application.This should take place sometime in the New Year,

Pat Norin appeared before the council to discuss the Community Project of Refurbishing the interior of the Senior Citizen Building which the City of Centerville does own. She is in the process of writing a grant and asking for funding from South Dakota Community Area Foundation, Centerville Area Foundation, Chamber of Commerce and City of Centerville for help with the funding. Murra moved and Kroger seconded the motion for the City of Centerville to support the project of refurbishing the interior of the senior citizen building.
This is a 3D drawing of the Senior Citizen Center. As seen from above, round tables will replace the long rectangular dining tables.We are planning to add a computer station along with decorative photos on the walls.
In this 3D drawing of the Senior Citizen Center, you can see the new TV and sitting area up in the front of the building. We also plan to turn the building into a Wi-Fi area. This will alow visitors to use the Internet without a direct connection.
